17th Annual Jumps N Jackpots was a huge success!

Another Jumps N Jackpots tournament is now behind us.  Rave reviews from the participants: 'great judges", "spectacular raffle", "best tournament of the year", "loved everything about the tournament" and more. The Livestream video continued to be a big hit.  Many friends and family afar were able to watch all of us crazy flyballers and our dogs, while we have some fun in the lanes.  Racing went till the late hours of the night on Saturday night but we still managed to have our annual canine costume contest.  No surprise, Laurie Thompson and her dog Keno won Best Overall Costume.  Laurie has won this title since the contest began about 7 years ago. She really knows how to wow the crowd!

Congratulations to all the Special Award Winers this year voted by the participants and they were:

Most Fun Large Dog to Watch - Tahoe
Most Fun Adult Handler to Watch - Tam Lester
Best Dog/Handler Relationship - Elly and Brian Jorgensen
Most Fun Junior Handler to Watch - Kyle Myers
Most Fun Boxloader to Watch - Zoee Bills
Best Box Turn Large Dog - River

TNG also wants to send out a huge congratulations to all the teams and dogs who set personal bests.
It seems like the
Jumps N tournament was the place to be!

As a team, TNG is grateful to have a large group of supporters who attend our tournament each year as well as awesome family and friends who volunteer.  It is through your support that Jumps N Jackpots continues to be one of the best tournaments in the west! Thank you to all!  We hope to see everyone again next year!

Worth working for...

Touch N Go worked hard all summer on so many levels.  Even though we had 3 months off from tournaments, we continued to condition our seasoned dogs and focused full force on our new up and coming dogs.  All of TNG team members were anxious to see how the September tournament would play out.  Excitement and nothing short of amazing describes TNG's emotions when the newly restructured phase one of our A team went out and set a new record of 14.690 in their first race!

Our hard work over the summer certainly was worth working for!  The line up for our 9th world record was Chef, Action, Warrant, and Detail.  Considering it was Action and Details' first time running on a team this feat was nothing short of amazing! These dogs are all incredible and already working so well together we can't wait to see what the future holds.

TNG's Brindle Mafia also debuted at Stampede's September Nothing To It Tournament.  Fashion, and her brothers Muscle, Nuke, and Truant all did a super job on their first time out at a tournament.  They are so much fun to watch!  Keep your eyes posted for this flashy group of pups in the lanes.  We are expecting great things from them in the future!

Also making his racing debut on a team and running flawless was Malice.  Lee and Malice have put in countless hours aside from practice in order to get Malice where he is today.  We are proud of you both for a job well done!

Impressive debuts, milestones, and restructure phase

Over the years, Touch N Go has trained many dogs with mounds of potential.  Detail and Action are no exception to that rule.  The Border/Whippet brothers put on an astounding performance at the Stampede Hot Spot tournament for their debut in singles.
Action's personal best was 3.622, currently ranking him the overall #4 dog in U-FLI.  Detail's personal best was 3.682 currently ranking him #8 in 2011.

Their runs were over a jump height of 8" and started from the 20 ft mark.  We are so proud of these boys and we are super excited to debut their sister, Custom this fall too!

Two other TNG superstars reached a milestone at the Stampede Hot Spot tournament.  Glamour and Epic both earned their Top Flight Expert Plaque for completing 20,000 points.  Way to go girls!

And last but not least of TNG news... many of you may have noticed that our team line ups have changed a bit recently.  For example, the C team was stacked with all Borderstaffys the last tournament and the A team took a hiatus.  TNG is in a reconstruction phase of rebuilding teams.  We have several young dogs that are up and coming, so stay tuned to see what's next on our agenda!

Spring Round Up

Touch N Go has had an exciting and busy spring so far.  We started
off with providing a 3-day training seminar for Muddy-Paws-A-Flyin'
in Portland, Oregon.  TNG was greeted in style from the moment we stepped off the plane!  Shawna was there to pick us up and she was holding a sign that said "Portland, Oregon loves Flyball".  Very
cool!  We met a lot of new friends in Region 7, plus we were able to hang
out for some laughs and catch up with our friends from Dogwood Pacesetters as well.

March also brought us to another Stampede Spring Round-Up Tournament where all of our hard work payed off.  We had the following successes at this tournament:

*A Team - TNG set their 8th World Record run with a time of 14.860!  The team consisted of Chef, Warrant, Raptor, and Urgent.  It was also Warrant's 6th birthday on Saturday when we broke the record.  The achievement of breaking our own record by .004 seconds may seem like a small accomplishment in numbers but at this speed every little bit counts!  We look forward to the official word from U-FLI, so that the record will stand at 14.860.  The A team has an amazing group of dogs and handlers.  As a team, TNG is so proud of these dogs and how much they give us in every single heat they run, as well as their endless determination and work ethic.  Way to go
A TEAM!!!!

* B Team -
Our B team is a young team of up and coming superstars!  They set a new personal best time of 15.38, how exciting!  Keep your eyes on this team because they have a lot more in store for the future.  The team consists of 3 Blue Merle Border Collies - Tension, Caffeine, and Metrik, and one Borderstaffy - Monster.  All we can say about these dogs is that they rock!

* C Team - The TNG C Team is a very consistent team, so in usual TNG fashion, they took
1st place in Division 1 both days of the tournament.  The dogs who ran on this team over the course of the weekend were Glamour, Rugby, Idol, Helios, Satyr, Ugly, and Classik.  Congrats C team!!

* D Team - The D team is always fun to watch in the lanes because we have a variety of dogs on this team.  You have Torment, the German Wirehair Pointer, always a crowd favorite, then there is Queue the handsome red and white Border Collie who is normally barking with excitement.  Next is Nitro another Border Collie with style along with Epic - the sassy Borderstaffy who takes her job very seriously, as well as Prime - another TNG Borderstaffy with heart and great work ethic.  But for this tournament we threw in some newbies!  Beast and Protest who are half brothers, made their debut on a team this weekend!  Both boys did awesome and acted as if they had been passing on a team for months.  We are so proud of these boys in fact this was Protest's debut!  He was unavailable for the last tournament where he would have debuted in singles, so he went right to pairs on Saturday and then the D team on Sunday.  Congrats to our up and coming youngsters for making this transition so smoothly.  We can not wait to see what you can do in the future!

* E Team - The E team is one that works just as hard as our other teams and is also a very consistent team of dogs.  When you consider the fact that two of the dogs on this team are over 10 years old, its pretty amazing to see them still post the times they do in Division 2 with earning top placements at tournaments.  Shatter and Taboo are siblings who are the senior citizens on the team and they are well matched with their team mates Katcher, Smuggle, Traction, and Koa.  Occasionally you will see the line up with all 4 Border Jacks!

* Pairs - We had three green dogs running in pairs at this tournament; Beast, Pride, and Protest.  We are thrilled with of all three of our green dogs performances so far.  Keep your eye on these three, they are ones to watch!

Overall, this tournament brought a smile to our faces on so
many levels.  We could not be more pleased with the
outcome and the way our dogs performed.

The future looks so bright, we gotta wear shades!

Success, Fun, and Friends!

Touch N Go is very proud of our latest group of up and coming youngsters.  Beast, Jingo, Malice, Pride and Viva made their debut in January with much success!

Stampede's Winter Warm Up Tournament was a busy one for TNG, but we enjoyed every minute of it.  Our good times were shared with Kevin, Diamond, and Cheryl from Synergetic Surge Flyball Team along with Lisa Kronz of On Target Border Collies/Hyper Flight Flyball Team, and Reika Fletcher, who got to see her first tournament ever.   As always, a big thanks goes out to Lee Lardner for the most AMAZING food ever!  We also had some surprise visitors this weekend.  Dave & Deb Demers magically appeared at the hotel on Friday to help out for the weekend.  You guys rock!  Next up on TNG's schedule is a seminar in Portland, Oregon which is hosted by Muddy Paws-A-Flyin'.

What's in store for 2011?

Touch N Go has a lot planned for this upcoming year.  As a team we have decided to attend the "Go Nuts with Mutts" U-FLI Championship Qualifier with the goal of participating at this year's U-FLI Championships.  Touch N Go has not attended a Championship in a few years due to the slow economy, however we are hopeful that this year will be the year we return.   The team will be traveling to Fresno, California to participate in the U-FLI Championship Qualifier hosted by Mutts In Motion.  Our latest schedule is now posted and it includes dates for three TNG Seminars this year.

TNG is anxious to get back to racing in the new year and we look forward to seeing all of you soon!
